How to Get Rid of Your Preacher
Since this is the Preacher’s Pen, I thought I would offer a couple ways for congregations to get rid of their preachers.
From time to time, preachers “step on the toes” of various members causing them to change a course of life or feel guilty from something they have done. Many believe preachers enjoy invading their personal life with talk of sin and temptation, but actually, if they are invading your personal space they are trying to make your life better. Take a moment and read the list below and put it into action and it will only be a short while before your preacher leaves.
Here are Five Ways to Get Rid of Your Preacher:
- Sit up front and smile. Say "Amen" every time he says something good. He will preach himself to death.
- Encourage him and tell him what a great job he is doing. He will work himself to death.
- Increase your attendance, giving, and participation. He will suffer from shock.
- Tell him that you want some names of people to go visit and help win souls to Christ. He will die of a
heart attack. - Have the whole congregation vow to pray for him. He will become so effective that a larger congregation
will take him off your hands.
I hope you enjoy the post today! What other ways can you think of to “Get Rid of Your Preacher?”

Monday Morning Blues
From time to time, I turn on the news to remind myself why politics drive me nuts. With the constant bickering and turmoil brought about by the increased spending and the possible spending of more trillions of dollars our government does not have, I feel as though their math is a little off.
With that in mind, here is a video of the math our politicians must have taken. Enjoy!
Hope you enjoyed!

Sunday’s Checklist – Past Post
As you start your car Sunday morning, take a moment and run through your Sunday morning checklist.
10. Do I have my Bible?
9. Do I have my family in the car with me? (this may not apply to everyone)
8. Am I dressed? (this does apply to everyone)
7. Does my family have their Bibles with them?
6. Have we prayed before leaving the house?
5. Have I considered the lesson and Bible class from last week?
4. Who did I not talk to last week who I will this week?
3. Have I prepared my soul for worship this morning?
2. Are my children ready to sing on the way to the building?
1. Will my attitude while driving to services reflect the love of Christ we will talk about in service?
Just a thought,
Chris

Random Thursday Thoughts
“If you will not teach your children, the world will.”
“Why is it we always tell ourselves we want our children to have a better life than we do, yet we never mean that spiritually?”
“We can chose who will be hard on our children. It will be us or the world; I prefer ‘me.’”
“Disrespect does not happen overnight, it is a process.”
“How is it I know my friends favorite television show, yet I know nothing of his relationship with Jesus?”
“Why do people spend more time planning the wedding than the marriage?”
“When you think it might be too late to ask for help, it is not – ASK!”
“Do many people pray as a last resort instead of the first thought?”
“Why do I have a house alarm to keep burglars out, yet have no filter on the TV?”
“Instead of wondering the theological significance of the new hermeneutical agnosticism, why don’t I rejoice in the fact that I have decided to follow Jesus?”
“Why? I just want to know why?”
Just some coffee-filled thoughts,
