Listen to the Message

I found this video while searching YouTube yesterday and I wanted to pass it along to you. Listen to the words to the song and hear the message and the question it asks. The song is “Teaching the Truth in Love.” I have have included two renditions of it.

Have a blessed day!

Sunday’s PowerPoint and Discussion Guide on Prayer

Yesterday, I spoke on the topic of prayer in regards to it being our communication in the midst of battle here on earth. There are thousands of things pulling at us from every side, but as Christians, we must be clothed in the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-19); part of that armor is our communication system with God – prayer!

Imagine sending the Armed Services providing weapons and armor to a soldier sending them off with no means of communication – the battle would be lost! Our battle against Satan rages daily and our line of communication with God MUST remain open!

Remember, while the battle is hard, the lines are clearly seen and the winner is clearly made know!

Remember to search through the PowerPoints for more!

Just a thought,

Monday Morning Blues – Tim Conway

This is one of the best comedy clips ever. If you have ever watched the Carol Burnett Show, then this clip lives in your mind. I am not sure which is funnier Tim Conway or trying to see Harvey Korman not laugh!

Enjoy your day!

Have a great day!

Footballs or Bibles

Over the years, fantasy football has become a rising fad among many armchair quarterbacks and I am among them. After winning my league in crushing defeat five years ago, my fantasy football teams resembles the heritage of the Detroit Lions. We are simply awful. I am gladly holding down last place in our league and still searching, praying, hoping and wishing for the first win of the season. image

While glancing at my team this morning, I decided to release several of my players and ran across Beanie Wells. Now, I understand some of you are not familiar with Beanie Wells, but he is a running back for the Arizona Cardinals and set to have a great year. He was going to be the underdog in Arizona, but most thought his potential would accelerate throughout the year bringing him to great fantasy football status. Well..a few fumbles later, Beanie is scraping the bottom of the fantasy point barrel for the year.

As I checked his statistics for the year, I found out the team is making Beanie carry a football with his name on it for the week. Can you imagine a professional athlete carrying a football with him throughout the week? Well, it does happen and there is a reason. Beanie fumbled twice last week and carrying the football helps Bernie to become familiar with the touch and feel of the football that he so quickly lost. He is going back to the fundamentals of football and carrying his career in his hands. (Click this link to read more of Beanie Wells and his friend, the football.)

I wonder if many Christians need to carry the Bible in their hands everyday.

Have we lost the touch and feel of God’s word in our lives?

Have we replaced God’s Word with the self-help, motivational philosophies of the day?

Here are five quick thoughts to see how familiar you are with God’s Word:

5 – Your favorite version on Sunday mornings is the “pew version.”

4 – You think Daniel’s three friends are Larry, Moe and Curly.

3 – The preacher gives a lesson on lying from Mark 17 and you tell him you read Mark 17 and agree!

2 – Your children read from 2nd Hezekiah last night.

1 – You favorite Bible verse is “cleanliness is next to godliness.”

Just some thoughts,

Chris
