I always enjoy your insights. Carrie and I have done without cable and just used locals before, but that was B.C. <em>(before children)</em>. Now, the kiddos are loving NetFlix because there are no commercials. The more I hear them say that the more I enjoy it because I do not hear them say, "I want that" or "I <em>need</em> that." I'll be honest that there are times I wish we still had certain shows. For one, our rabbit ears won't even pick up ABC so we can't watch any of their shows, and I wouldn't mind home and garden shows. Dan wishes he could watch more sports! :) But for the most part I don't miss it much. And just as you've observed, we watch A LOT less TV AND we're spending a lot less money! Instead of doing Netflix, we just watch movies from Redbox or the library. The library also has some TV shows on DVD that we've enjoyed. I definitely think you will be glad you got rid of cable.
