Book Review: Dream Test by John Maxwell
“Between the dream’s inspiration and its manifestation, there’s going to be lot of perspiration.” (Dr. John Maxwell, page 75 of Dream Test)
Within each person there is a dream; whether a small dream or a large dream, there is a dream. Some will achieve their dream and live a life of fulfillment and success, while others may lie awake at night dreaming of what their world would be like if they only challenged themselves to live their dream. Dr. John Maxwell’s latest book, Dream Test, will challenge your dream and cause your mind to consider the effort it takes to make your dream a reality. Dr. Maxwell challenges and questions, not to be negative, but to encourage you to take a greater, deeper and stronger look at your dream.
From the beginning of the book until the last page closed, the words flowed together to ask ten powerful questions regarding dreams. The subtitle of Dream Test bears the purpose of the questions in relating to your dream, “10 Questions to Help You See It and Seize It.” As you read through the book, take time to ponder each question and answer the questions at the end of each chapter. The material, challenges and encouragement is there, you are the one to make it work. From the “Ownership Question” to the “Significance Question,” Dr. Maxwell will ask you about your belief in your dream and how your dream will be a catalyst in assisting others.
I found myself taking longer to read Dream Test than I normally would. The depth of questions caused my mind and my dream a second, third and sometimes a fourth look as I travel the path to fulfilling my dream. Each chapter is filled with examples, quotes and words to be practiced, not just to be read.
Dr. Maxwell, as a New York Times Best Selling Author, has a history of producing excellent leadership books, and Dream Test is certainly following in those steps.
Take some time and put your dream to the test, the Dream Test.
Just some thoughts,
Chris

The name “Maxwell” is fairly common. Is this the same man that is a preacher for the church who teaches that a person does not need to break off an adulterous relationship, but they just need to be baptized?
It’s hard to keep track of all the false teaches these days, and I didn’t want to think less of the author of this book if it is not the same man. You wouldn’t happen to know, would you?

Scott,
John Maxwell is not a preacher for the church. He is a leadership guru in Atlanta. At one time he was a Methodist preacher in California.
