Warning, it’s full of many words.

Typically, I only scroll one thumb swipe up on Facebook. Today, I went through several thumbs scrolls and noticed something tragic. The world will always be the world. There will always be rumors of wars, violence, times of peace, grateful times, hateful times. There will be times of joy and times of sadness, times to eat and times we fast. There will always be unique times.

However, tonight, I feel sorry for people. I have read some of your posts, seen your pictures and read your words. Much of it was discouraging. The fight of an election, riots and which lives matter, really brings us into a divided being. Whether or not you are offended, does not really matter. Some of you put so much drama on Facebook that I can’t imagine you ever being happy. You focus on the past like it was the best. The past is just that, the past. It is time to move forward. What you did in high school might have been fun, but it is what you are doing now that will make you great.

Truthfully, I was a jerk in high school and most of college. I disliked school, ignorant people, and busy work. I hated all of it. I wanted to reach for better things of service, not a textbook of past thoughts. History is important, but making the past your aim is sad. By the way, if I was a jerk to you in school or in college, I apologize.

Tonight, I see people posting things and it concerns me. I might be one of those too, but I hope not. I see people arguing over things that may not matter in 10 years. They will be forgotten, but you will not be.

If you want to make a difference in the world…

If you want to make a difference to future generations…

if you want to make a difference in the lives of your children…

If you really want to create unity…

If you really want to save lives…

If you really want to fight injustice….

If you really want to make the world a better place…

Then it starts with YOU!

It does not start with a protest a presidential candidate, burning a building, a Facebook status or fighting your fellow man…it starts with YOU!

It starts with the fact that you are not perfect. You are not without fault. You are trying, but YOU get in YOUR way. Stop getting in your own way. Get off of Facebook and get to work. Make yourself better first, then worry about what everyone else is doing. You will help no one until you work on YOU!

So, get to work.

Ask for help.

Make a plan.

Get a hobby.

Take a class.

Eat better.

Talk better.

Stop complaining and start working.

Realize that life is not about.

Realize your children need you.

Realize your future great-grandchildren need a better world.

Realize YOU can get in YOUR own way.

So, how can I help?

Just some thoughts,
