31 Days with Jesus
Matthew 5–7 and Luke 6:20-49 capture one of Jesus’ most powerful teachings—the Sermon on the Mount. In these chapters, Jesus lays out a vision for what it means to truly follow Him. He doesn’t just give a list of rules; He paints a picture of a transformed heart and a life that reflects God’s kingdom.

Jesus begins with the Beatitudes, blessing the poor in spirit, the meek, the merciful, and those who hunger for righteousness. He challenges us to be salt and light in the world, to love our enemies, to forgive, and to seek first God’s kingdom above all else. His words cut through surface-level religion and call us to a deeper, more authentic relationship with God.

The Sermon on the Mount isn’t about perfection—it’s about direction. Jesus invites us to build our lives on the solid rock of His teaching, knowing that storms will come but we will stand firm if our foundation is Him. He calls us to examine our motives, to pray sincerely, and to trust God for our needs.

Living out the Sermon on the Mount is not always easy. It requires humility, honesty, and a willingness to let God change us from the inside out. But as we embrace Jesus’ blueprint for faith, we discover a life of blessing, peace, and purpose.

As you reflect on the Sermon on the Mount, ask God to help you live out these teachings in practical ways. Let His words shape your heart and guide your actions.

Four Points to Remember:
  • Jesus’ teaching calls us to a deeper, more authentic faith that transforms our hearts.
  • The Beatitudes remind us that God’s blessing often looks different than the world expects.
  • Building your life on Jesus’ words provides a strong foundation through every storm.
  • True discipleship is about living out God’s kingdom values every day, not just hearing them.
