31 Days with Jesus
Matthew 21:28–22:46, Mark 12:1-40, and Luke 20:9-47 capture a series of parables and warnings Jesus shared during His final days in Jerusalem. Speaking to both religious leaders and everyday people, Jesus used stories to challenge their assumptions, expose their hearts, and invite them to genuine faith.

Through parables like the two sons, the tenants, and the wedding banquet, Jesus called His listeners to examine their responses to God’s invitation. He warned against empty religion and self-righteousness, urging everyone to live with humility, repentance, and readiness for God’s kingdom. His words weren’t just for the crowds back then—they’re for us today, too.

Jesus’ warnings can feel uncomfortable, but they come from a heart of love. He wants us to experience the fullness of life with God, not just go through the motions. The religious leaders resisted His message because it challenged their comfort and control, but those who listened with open hearts found hope, forgiveness, and a new way forward.

Listening to Jesus means more than just hearing His words—it means letting them shape our attitudes, choices, and actions. His parables invite us to reflect: Are we responding to God’s call with faith and obedience, or are we making excuses and holding back?

As you reflect on these warnings and parables, ask God for a teachable spirit. Let Jesus’ words challenge and encourage you to live with authenticity, humility, and a readiness to embrace His kingdom.

Four Points to Remember:
  • Jesus’ parables and warnings invite us to examine our hearts and responses to God.
  • True faith is shown through humble obedience, not just religious activity.
  • God’s invitation is open to all—don’t let excuses or pride keep you from His best.
  • Listening to Jesus means letting His words transform your life, day by day.
