31 Days with Jesus
John 21:15-19 captures a deeply personal exchange between Jesus and Peter. After breakfast on the shore, Jesus asks Peter three times, “Do you love me?” Each question echoes Peter’s earlier denial, but also offers him a fresh chance to declare his love and loyalty. With every answer, Jesus gives Peter a new assignment: “Feed my sheep.”

This moment is about more than Peter’s restoration—it’s about the heart of discipleship. Jesus isn’t looking for perfection; He’s looking for love. True love for Jesus leads to action: caring for others, sharing hope, and serving with humility. Jesus entrusts His mission to people who are willing to love deeply and serve faithfully, even after failure.

Peter’s story reminds us that our past mistakes don’t define our future. Jesus offers forgiveness, healing, and a renewed calling to everyone who turns back to Him. He meets us where we are, calls us by name, and invites us to follow Him with renewed purpose.

When Jesus asks, “Do you love me?” it’s an invitation to examine our hearts and recommit to following Him. Loving Jesus means trusting Him, obeying Him, and loving others as He loves us.

As you reflect on this conversation, let Jesus’ grace renew your love and inspire you to serve with fresh devotion.

Four Points to Remember:
  • Jesus offers forgiveness and a renewed calling, no matter our past failures.
  • Loving Jesus means caring for others and serving with humility.
  • Our relationship with Jesus is the foundation for everything we do.
  • Every day is a new opportunity to say “yes” to Jesus’ love and His call to follow.
